What is Red Vein Borneo Kratom? Well, Kratom is the name of a tree closely related to the coffee plant. This tree has intoxicating and medicinal effects. This particular strain, referred to as Red Vein Borneo, get's its title from the island of which it's native to, and color of the veins of the leaf upon harvest. The Red Vein Borneo is grown closer to the river path ( sort of a natural hydroponics ) which is believed to increase its potency. It's used as a recreational stimulant and powerful pain reliever as well.

It creates mind-bogglingly complex and useful pharmacological phytochemicals that interact with opioid receptors in the human body. One of them is called Mitragynine. There are tons more chemical constituents in this leaf that phytochemist have isolated and researched as well. Of course there are plenty of folks including our own FDA who will deny any research has been done, yet a simple scholarly journal search will yield endless results of academic research into this tree. The A.K.A. has been fighting the FDA for years with real science. They even beat the DEA.

From my own own personal experiences, I say 1-2 grams is a dose(or 2-4), just start smaller.. Keep in mind that different body masses, different minds, settings, and plant strains all effect the dosage and experience created by the substance. The psychoactive effects last from about 4-6 hours for a user with little to no tolerance. From my experiences with it, it's best to pace yourself to avoid this from happening. Skip doses for about 4-5 hours at least. Only take when needed, and never exceed what a dose that works for you is. Also, know that potency varies, and no two vendors will have the same exact quality of product.

The particular variety, having red veins, demonstrates how vein color accurately correlates with the actual colors vibrant symbolic connection with vitality. Its psychoactive effects demonstrate this thoroughly. In other words, the color red and the effects of this strain of the plant share similar properties, as shown to us by studies on color and human psychology. Look more into Color Psychology, Color Therapy, etc. Anyway, ancient cultures believed this too, as they saw many correlations with appearance and properties. I discuss this further in my Kratom Strain Guide.

Methods Of Consumption:

Methods that work: Edibles, Capsules, Raw Dawg - AKA "Toss 'n Wash", Tincture, Elixir ( aged and acidified tea ) 1) Edibles: You can cook it into edibles much like Medical Cannabis patients do with their medicine. Keep in mind one person should never consume more than 4 grams of dried powdered leaf when preparing your edibles. Just don't over-heat it. Remember the same concept that applies to eating Cannabis, and that is don't eat too much because you won't be able to reverse the effects! Only time can solve this problem ( or Echinacea IMO ).

2) Capsules: Capsules are the quickest, easiest, possibly the worst way to consume it, besides tea. They work fine for plenty of people but, I just prefer the powder. I think that the powdered leaf kicks in faster, and it's likely easier for your stomach to handle and digest without all of that cellulose or whatever the capsules are made out of. On the other hand, pre-capped proudct makes it easier to measure your dose. Most caps hold 1 gram a piece. So if you dump one of them out, you know you have one gram, etc.

3) Raw Dawg: What is "Raw Dawg"? It means the same thing as "Toss 'n Wash", which means to: put the raw material in your mouth and chase it with a drink, preferably juice ( grapefruit to be specific). I've watched so many people try this only to freak out, hack, cough, gag, and even throw up. It's not that hard though guys. They complain about the taste, yet many people that I know prefer the powder. They have it in their mind that it's not tolerable but it's really not that bad. Take the kratom, carefully pour it directly on your tongue, making sure it doesn't turn loose in your mouth, and then gently wash it down your throat with a glass of tea, soda, juice, or even water. Don't stop chasing it with a drink until all of the powder is gone. This method works the best and sets in the quickest.

4) Tincture(spirit) Soak your precious psychoactive leaf in alcohol for 4-6 weeks. You'll want to use twice as much alcohol as leaf. Obviously this consumption method takes the longest but some prefer it. It's not going to taste any better than just eating it. It makes for an interesting elixir though. I knew someone back in the day who was actually brewing an herbal beer that's main ingredient was Kratom. They threw some moss and other odd botanical stuff in there too. It was the most incredible beer that I've ever had, hands down.

Don't waste your time making jumbo batches of speciosa tea. The active psychoactive constituents are not soluble in water, making it a waste of time, money, and product. Other non-psychoactive medicinal constituents are water soluble. If you add organic acidic juices from lemon, lime and some alcohol to it, and then age it, you're good to go. Red vein borneo is best kept in a small baggie in your pocket, with some type of spoon or device used for the toss'n'wash.
