These capsules are used to create your own herbal supplements. They come in two sizes and multiple quantities, all of which are bulk. One size is "0" and the other "00". The "00" size is much larger than the "0" size, and many people have referred to them as "horse tranquilizers" because they are so big. Filling your own caps can save you tons of money on herbal supplements because you won't be paying outrageous prices for someone else to fill them for you. When you fill them yourself you also have the advantage of knowing exactly what's going in to them.

Capsules give you an alternative way to consume herbs. In traditional medicine, different consumption and preparation methods all play a role in the medicinal applications and properties that the plants are able to induce and possess. The traditional methods are decoctions, tinctures (spirits), sun tea's, and regular stove top style tea's, spagyrics, elixirs, etc. Caps are typically recommended for consuming a remedy that's to be taken as a long-term supplement.

Certain ethnobotanicals(plants prized by humans for any reason) are medicinally active or psychoactive when consumed orally, while others are not. "Caps" as they are often called, may as well be whats known as the "toss 'n wash", aka "Raw Dawg It" style consumption method. You can avoid using them all together by just pouring the ground or powdered plant material on your tong and chasing it with a drink. It's the same thing, only you're lacking the capsule. Basically you can look at this like you have a choice, and acknowledge that they are convenient yet not necessary.

Keep in mind that the oral consumption of various herbs may or may not make certain supplements more effective. It all depends on how the chemistry of your botanical of choice interacts with that of the chemistry of your digestive system. I would suggest researching your remedy some more in order to find out whether or not its active when eaten. A few examples of several herbs that work well when used in this fashion include Kratom Leaf, Echinacea Root, Yucca Root.

What makes capsules so valuable is the fact that you are straight up consuming the plant material, and allowing your body to the extractions. The effectiveness of different consumption methods vary from plant to plant. You may find that capsules are the least effective for certain remedies. Some plants like Kratom only seem to work when consumed orally or otherwise specially prepared. Others like Skullcap and Chamomile flowers seem to work great when capsuled or "toss 'n washed" as well.

Precaution: I would imagine people who have ulcers and certain issues should not use these at all because they are processed by the stomach and intestines. Always use your own intuition.
