Quick disclaimer: This Banisteriopsis caapi product and related ones are only sold to those who have the legal right to possess or use it. I'm not an expert on laws but there is a global demand for these items in some areas. I want to fore warn everyone that in the USA this vine and its related plants are not sold for consumption unless you have the religious right to do so. The responsibility of checking laws and distribution is up to the suppliers listed. Please note that if you live someplace where this stuff is legal, Ayahuasca consumption doesn't necessarily mean you'll have a good time. Some people get sick, throw up, and have a horrifying experience. The state of mind you enter the expereince in, people often say will make or break the experience. Also note that the vine itself contains MAOI's which can be dangerous when combined with certain substances! Talk to a doctor if you plan on traveling to use this stuff! This is not meant to put a bad rap on Caapi, but rather to create a safe atmosphere of education about potential harms and misuse. Any harms that are possible through use of this vine are related to the consumer breaking seller buyer agreement, and failling to utilize the warnings appropriately. We yeild no responsbility. See erowid.org for more safety precautions.

Banisteriopsis Caapi Leaf

The leaf of the Ayahuasca vine (Banisteriopsis caapi) is often in and out of stock. The chemical constituents are likely different. I know from experience in doing research for the last ten years that chemical variations ( phytochemical ) vary throughout different parts of plants ( seeds, root, leaves, flowers ). While the roots of the "spirit vine" are the most prized part, people do find applications for the leaves. Remember, in the Amazon, it's not just used as an entheogen, but also as a "divine medicine". People often fail to discover there is a potential side of these types of natural substances that you might not enjoy or may regret and so I ethically warn you about this. It has to do with it being an MAOI. This means that the Caapi vine should NOT BE COMBINED WITH THE WRONG SUBSTANCES BECAUSE IT COULD BE DANGEROUS! Could be and is are two different things. Just research MAOI substances and find out about the potential dangers of mixing this with say.. oh.. an SSRI...

Banisteriopsis caapi vine Extracts

Caapi vine and Ayahuasca extracts are in and out of stock. They're all handled by a outfit that I work with in the Netherlands I believe. They work with suppliers around the world and ship internationally. It's on THEM and YOU to make sure you abide by the law. In the United States, certain religious groups do have the legal right to utilize this sacred "medicine" and "entheogenic brew". Sometimes products and vendors get dropped, replaced, or sell out incredibly fast. Over the years the people we have linked to has changed as times change and peoples prospects in life do as well at times. Social and other forces at play can unfortunately destroy what we have worked so hard to create.

Live Banisteriopsis Caapi Plants

live chacruna plant

Nothing is more satisfying than growing your own Banisteriopsis (Ayahusca). Star Botanicals as linked to above at TIMES has cuttings (live plants) for sale of this species. Cuttings are guaranteed to survive shipping, and have a healthy root structure that's ready for transplant. They are very easy to reproduce as you don't even need seeds! What you can do is take a cutting off of a branch and just place it in some water and put it near a window seal. Leave it there a few days or so and roots will start to form! You can do that, or you can just place it in a pot with some rich compost. I definitely suggest harvesting your own organic compost or making your own. It takes much less time to harvest it than to create it and it's usually better. The trick is finding some place in the wild that has dark, fluffy, rich, soil. Typically locations where lots of leaves, branches, twigs, and organic material fall and settle over dirt in the fall and winter produce some excellent natural compost.

Seeds
ayahuasca seeds

Caapi seeds ( Banisteriopsis - Ayahuasca ) are easy enough to germinate. Just make sure you wait until the right time of the year. They are to be planted wing up, with the head down into the soil. Make sure it's well drained, and high quality. Plant as soon as you receive your seeds. They are freshly harvested and directly from the Amazon upon harvest by the local Shamans. It can take up to 4 weeks for them to germinate. The biggest mistake people make when growing anything from my experience, is over-watering, or too much sun in a tropical climate.

A lot of seed packets sold in the main-stream say "full sun" on the package. In some regions of the world though this really isn't a good idea until the plants are well established. If you start your cuttings indoors, or germinate the seeds there, and then move them outdoors, it can shock the plants and stunt their growth, or kill them all together. Ayahuasca plants need to be acclimated if you suddenly change their environment. They grow wild in the Amazon so they need tropical moisture! A greenhose in a place like Florida, with not so much full sun and plenty of moisture is ideal!
