Hawaiian Baby Woodrose Seeds
Scientific Name: Argyreia nervosa
Aside from its historic reputation as a psychoactive "entheogen", it can also be thought of as a universal "talisman" ( or symbol ) for a heart and mind connection. This perception based off the lore associated wih its history of use. Synchronistically, the leaves are the same shape as the human symbol for the heart, while the flowers are purple. Purple ( a higher frequency of blue ), is a color historically connected with the pineal gland. ( third eye ). Reports around the world of experiences involving HBWR that revolved around the heart are very common.

Hawaiian Baby Woodrose is scientifically known as Argyreia nervosa. It is a climbing perennial vine that's history in Shamanic cultures lives on to this day. This "entheogen" is native to the Indian sub-continent where it eventually made its way around the world. It goes by several names including Adhoguda ( Sanskrit ), Elephant Creeper, and Wooly Morning Glory. The plant looks exactly like the Morning Glory except for that the leaves and flowers are much larger.
The Wizard Of Oz
This psychoactive vine has even been depicted in the popular motion picture "The Wizard Of Oz". ( At least, That's what I think. ) Look closely in the part where Dorothy first steps out of the door, after the house crashes down to "munchkin land". Perhaps they are portraying a connection with being "somewhere over the rainbow", and the historic use of this plant. You don't hear this mentioned too often. Check it out the next time you watch the movie.
Hawaiian Baby Woodrose is easy enough to grow. It's invasive and produces tons of seeds. First start by scraping some of the seed coating off using a razor blade. You want to scrape away from what looks like the eye. It's a circular spot on one end of the seed. Once the brown starts turning to white, and you see a white line from the eye down, stop. Now soak the seed in some distilled water over night. The next morning, take the seeds out and place them in a moist paper towel or wash cloth. Wait one to two days, and check back. Once the seed has germinated a tail, you are ready to plant it into some soil. Plant no deeper than 1/2 inch.
It has been prized throughout history for aesthetic value. Not only does it have a history of use in Shamanism, but also in Ayurvedic medicine. It's been well known by different cultures sense as far back as the times of ancient Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. Root extracts and flower concentrates have demonstrated aphrodisiac properties in animal studies. Leaf applications have shown anti-ulcer properties in rats.
As a word of sincere caution, I'd like for everyone to know that the seed coating is poisonous. Consumption of these seeds can make someone very ill, and its use is illegal. They are legally sold only for ornamental purposes. They have been consumed by different cultures around the world, yet these cultures knew what they were doing, and had the legal right to do so. They also did all sorts of other crazy things that you may not want to try at home. So if you're looking for a good time, then instead do something else. They are collectors items and have a very interesting and mysterious history behind them.
This information is presented strictly for research. Facts regarding these seeds are readily available from scholarly resources. I'd like to make the sincere point that these seeds can be dangerous.
