The number one thing you should be aware of when dealing with Kava and being a customer to the market, is that potency varies. You want to consider that the particular batch you purchased from a particular vendor might blow your previous purchase right out of the water. So, the point here is if you are going to consume it, to use this stuff responsibly, and research precautions, interactions, etc, while avoiding combining it with the wrong thing. Know yourself, your tolerance, etc. There is no specific dosage. Real Kava though, people drink like Beer in the Pacific, so it shouldn't make you sick no matter how much you have.
A quick run-down on Kava. It's the powdered root of a plant that grows wild in a specific region of the Pacific. There's Fiji Kava, Hawaiian Kava , and Solomon Islands Kava ( Vanuatu ). In my opinion, the powdered root is better than extracts. I like the Vanuatu variety. So, how much Kava is a good dose for a beginner? That's what you're here for right? I say treat it like Kratom in terms of how much. Start small with just a little corner of a regular spoon like that which you eat with. Again, if it's not adulterated then you should have no problems. The best way to play it safe is to test the waters before jumping right in.
Kava is used as an alternative to alcohol on the Islands in the pacific. Alcohol is literally illegal in Vanuatu. They drink it out of shells like people drink alcohol in the west. There are actually bars where people gather and get down on the stuff. It's pretty cool. I think it would be an awesome place to take a vacation. This plant, is a huge cash crop for these people. They make large shipments of it all around the world annually. In certain ares of Florida there are actually bars that sell this stuff. They're a pretty cool place to hang out if you ever get the chance.
Understand that this is just me sharing my own experience and familiarity with the stuff with you. I'm can't encourage the use of this plant or any other.
