Elephant Head ( Pedicularis groenlandica ) is almost identical to Indian Warrior ( Pedicularis densiflora ). Both are closely related as indicated by their scientific names. P. densiflora was prized by Native Americans, as well as the P. groenlandica strain. They utilized these plants for their believed immune boosting properties, as well as the supposed ability to relieve anger(see also Chamomile), anxiety, muscle tension, and as a sedative narcotic, tranquilizer, and to help induce sleep. See the research on their phytochemicals for scientific proof that medicinal constituents are in fact produced in plants. Also see pubchem as a reference, and scholar.google.com, jstor.org and sciencedirect as well as other electronic databases.

A Native American friend of mine shared with me a recipe that she made using Elephant Head. She took Lemon Balm, Pedicularis groenlandica, fresh chamomile, and LAVENDER believe it or not, and combined it with Indian warrior which is groenlandica densiflora. She told me it was used for sleep and to rid toxcicity from the blood and body ( cortisol, stress, anger, sadness ). I decided to wait until it was time for bed to try it. It made me feel very comfortable and seemed to be an easy way to enhance the quietness of my mind. I think it would be great in moderation or in professionally made infusions ( over the counter tinctures ) I want to quickly point out on another note, that the bible does confirm that herbalism is acceptable. Not only does it tell us in Genesis that "God gave man every seed bearing herb", but again in Ezekiel it confirms: Ezekiel 47:12 "And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine." Remember, herbalism was not rooted in paganism, it was perverted in paganism. Herbalism is rooted in our faith in God and his ability to create and design effective systems capable of sustaining biological and spiritual life.

Several varieties of the Peducularis botanical have been studied by phytochemist ( scientist ). P. sibthorpii and P. wilhelmsiana are two specific strains that I will discuss in this section. It was discovered by academic researchers that they produce some important poly-phenols and flavonoids (antioxidant). Polyphenols work to prevent microbial infections in plants. They also seem to appear in lots of other immune boosting herbals as well. Generally, researchers discover vast quantities of these phytochemicals. In a nutshell, the historic reputation these plants have as powerful healing agents is in fact scientifically sound. There are numberous online electronic databases full of scholarly information on this subject, including PubChem ( The National Library Of Medicine ) If you pull up each chemical on Wikipedia and PubChem, you'll see that individual phytochemicals within any given plant have insane numbers of medicinal benefits and properties, each enough to be their own unique medicine.

So you can see that this idea that we don't have any scientific facts about plants and their healing benefits, is a lie, there's tons of science to boot folks. Scholar.Google.com which searches the other more common databases such as jstor.org and researchgate.net, as well as sciencedirect.com Here's a university site that confirms its legitimacy: https://library.harvard.edu/services-tools/google-scholar Please use Internet Archive Save Page Feature to backup the academic pages, just copy and paste the url. This way, if the socialist remove studies and journals, we can still pull them up. Always always always save URL's as they connect the internet, and pages can only be pulled up on the waybackmachine if you know their URL.

Pedicularis groenlandica, or Elephant Head, grows in bogs and damp meadows from E. Transbaikalia to the Pacific coast. I speculate that there be a relationship between where plants grow, and their use. Did you know that in some cultures water was considered symbolic of our emotions?, probably because we are mostly made of water. Interestingly the bible also states in Revelation 1:15 "and Gods voice is as the sound of many waters" ( an angry God, water and emotions.. See connection? ) Dr. Emotto also believed this based on the results of his studies. So from experience in reading, writing, and studying these plants, it does seem that God gives us clues through patterns and various means to tell what plant is good for what. The Ayurvedic and Chinese were very good at identifying these patterns in nature

This study shows a large number of medicinal phytochemicals present in this species: "Seven phenylethanoid glycosides, i.e., verbascoside (1), echinacoside (2), angoroside A (3), cistantubuloside B1 (4), wiedemannioside C (5), campneoside II (11) and cistantubuloside C1 (12), together with several iridoid glucosides as aucubin (6), euphroside (7), monomelittoside (8), mussaenosidic acid (9) and 8-epiloganic acid (13) were identified. Pedicularis verticillata showed also the presence of greatly unexpected secoiridoids, ligustroside (14) and excelside B (15)" Each one of these can be looked up on PubChem to learn more, and they all synergize together to make the plant have the effects and properties that it does. So we can see that God has scientist beat. So why are you still whoring after them and their physicians? The bible says in: 2 Chronicles 16:12 "And Asa, in the thirty and ninth year of his reign, was diseased in his feet until his disease was exceeding great. Yet in his disease he sought not the Lord, but the physicians."
