When we say Rose flavored Sencha, we mean REAL rose flavor. In other words, there are real rose petals in this tea. Believe it or not, Rose has its own medicinal applications in the herbal community. Scientifically, it's quite the gold mine of pharmacology as well. I'll talk more about this below.
Roses have rejuvenating properties. It has been used to treat high blood pressure, slow circulation, painful menstruation, cough, fever, indigestion, and urinary tract infections. It's also used to cleanse the body of toxins. The plant itself contains vitamin C and other phytochemicals that have pharmacological benefits.
Having said all of that, we can now see that roses do more than flavor this Sencha tea. Tea itself is loaded with pharmacological constituents, especially Japanese green sencha! It contains various alkaloids. One of these compounds is called Theanine, which stimulates alpha brain waves! The alpha state is relaxation coupled with alertness. It also contains Catechin, and ECGC.
All of these various phytochemicals all have their own unique effects. The synergy between the chemicals in the roses and the tea make a very beneficial brew. It can also be made into a tincture form. This can be used for medicinal purposes, or in the art of infusions. Infusions are combinations of plants designed to harmonize and enhance each others qualities and properties.
