Frankincense is prized for its essential oils which are believed to be medicinal and energetic. Oils are also used in the production of cosmetics and perfumes. Clinical aromatherapy uses it for skin diseases, respiratory and urinary tract infections, rheumatism, and even syphilis.
This highly aromatic flowering vine is a member of the pea family. This flowering plant genus includes ten species of woody climbing vines that are native to the Eastern U.S., China, Korea, and Japan. The spelling of the name is often argued, or un-consistent ranging from Wisteria to Wistaria or Wysteria.
The photo above was taken in a sandy, sunny and warm region of north west florida on the gulf coast. These are just the flowers that are on the bush, closer to the ground. In the image below, the vine has managed to climb at least 40-50 feet up into the tree tops. Every spring this Wisteria vine blooms around the end of March, and the beginning of april in Florida.
These magnificent plants attract bees, butterflies, humming-birds and other cool insects and creatures. The potent aroma of these flowers can be detected by human scent receptors down-wind great distances away from the actual plants. They can be gathered, and placed in your house as a natural air-freshner and aromatic tool.
In aromatherapy, aromatic flowers are said to lift ones spirit, relieve anxiety, and induce a happier state of existence. They are also thought to stimulate a peacful and content state of mind, and being. You'll find the prescence of these flowers will effect your mood. The invisible compounds that permeat the air obviously influence the vibes within your mind.
Wisteria Vine is easy enough to grow. Germinate the seeds in spring. Make sure they have a lot of soil ( plant them in a huge pot ). Give them adequate water, while making sure not to keep the soil soggy wet. They love sunshine and thrive like a weed.
