Aromatic Wisteria Plant
This highly aromatic flowering vine is a member of the pea family. This flowering plant genus includes ten species of woody climbing vines that are native to the Eastern U.S., China, Korea, and Japan. The spelling of the name is often argued, or un-consistent ranging from Wisteria to Wistaria or Wysteria.
The photo above was taken in a sandy, sunny and warm region of north west florida on the gulf coast. These are just the flowers that are on the bush, closer to the ground. In the image below, the vine has managed to climb at least 40-50 feet up into the tree tops. Every spring this Wisteria vine blooms around the end of March, and the beginning of april in Florida.
